Teddy group: the sales network growth rates are at the highest level in the clothing industry: 100 new openings in 2024

Rimini, 10 February 2025 - The Teddy Group, one of the leading international players in the clothing industry, stands out in the retail sector for the pace of growth at the highest market levels of its global retail network with its Terranova, Calliope and Rinascimento brands. In fact, 100 new stores were opened in 2024, evenly distributed between the Italian and international markets, including Rinascimento's Fits You formula, in a context of absolute stagnation in the consumption index and a slight recovery in purchasing power, still far from pre-inflation levels. The total number of Teddy's stores worldwide at 31 December 2024 is over 900, with a presence in 39 markets with physical stores and in 31 markets with online sales activities.

Teddy looks to the future with confidence, forecasting significant development in 2025, with the aim of opening at least the same number of stores as in 2024, and the ambition to reach 120. 20 new online sales channels are also planned for Terranova, QB24, Rinascimento and Calliope, demonstrating the increasing integration of presence and digital sales channels. Marketplaces, located in various European and Asian countries, will be the main development channel for online sales in 2025.

The growth of the distribution network was accelerated by the introduction of 10 new franchisees, who began to develop the Teddy brands in the Italian and foreign markets. Another factor contributing to the development of the brands is the Group's commitment to offering the maximum value to the customer, while at the same time keeping prices affordable. For Teddy, this means creating collections that stand out for their beauty and quality, while satisfying customers' desire for comfort.

"We have also successfully tackled another challenging year. As far as the Italian market is concerned, we have focused on qualitative development, trying to seize the opportunities offered by the limited number of new shopping centre construction projects. "Another possibility is an upturn in the construction of new shopping centres, with potential especially in the medium term, as many openings are planned for 2026-2027," says Luca Binci, Teddy's Development Director.

"As far as foreign markets are concerned, we have noticed a good level of dynamism and development opportunities in the Balkans, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, a fairly stable situation in Western Europe, while in the CIS countries (former USSR republics) the markets have been affected by the current geopolitical situation. Maintaining a good pace of new store openings in new markets is a key driver for the company's growth and for achieving the goals set out in our current business plan," Binci concludes.

In 2024, Terranova opened in 21 countries, including the new markets of Andorra, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. Calliope, on the other hand, developed in 9 countries, including the two new markets of Austria and Poland. The Made-in-Italy Rinascimento brand, whose development is mainly focused on Italy, opened stores in 3 countries, of which Spain is the new one.

In terms of the sites where the most significant new openings took place, the following are worth mentioning Terranova Bologna (Via Ugo Bassi), Turin (Area 12 and To Dream shopping centres), Athens (Via Ermou), Tashkent (City Mall) in Uzbekistan and Sharjah (Al Zahia Mall) in the United Arab Emirates.

Calliope opened new stores in prime locations in Turin, with Terranova, Palermo (Viale Strasbourg), Vienna (Shopping City South), Sofia (Ring Mall), Dubai (Dubai Festival Shopping Centre) and Poznan (Poznania Shopping Centre). In 2024, the brand also launched the new 'Wonder Lines' format to offer customers an inspiring and enchanting environment. Rinascimento had several important openings in Italy, including Alessandria, Foggia, Grosseto, Parma, Pompei and Vienna (Donau Zentrum Shopping Centre).
